Recognising Singapore top real estate developments
Recognising Singapore top real estate developments. As we begin our new routines in the twenty-first century, our homes remain the only constant and are as important as ever, if not more so.
Homes are more than just a place to get away from the stresses of everyday life or to spend quiet time with our loved ones. Some of us use our bedrooms as our offices. Others regard our kitchen countertop as more than just a place to prepare meals; it also serves as our home office. And the balcony is now a great place for Zoom meetings.
The EdgeProp Excellence Awards, now in their fourth year, are truly unique in many ways. The judging process gave extra weightage to efficient and flexible living spaces to accommodate work and home-based learning, the incorporation of biophilic design into residential projects to bring nature closer to home, the practice of sustainability beyond regulatory requirements, and finally, the adoption of innovative ways to showcase new showflats in view.
I’d also like to thank the judges listed below for their professional and insightful viewpoints: Angela Lim, Co-Founder of SuMisura; Khew Sin Khoon, President and Group CEO of CPG Group; Ong Choon Fah, CEO of Edmund Tie; Colin Seah, Founder of Ministry of Design; Yvonne Tan, Director of DP Green; and Lee Nai Jia, Deputy Director of National University of Singapore’s Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies
Despite the pandemic, we received more than 70 submissions this year, up from 61 the previous year. Because no site visits were permitted (which had previously been the most enjoyable part of the process), short-listed candidates were invited to give their presentations virtually alongside their architects, engineers, and project managers.
The judging committee met over Zoom several times to debate the merits of each development before reaching a unanimous decision on the winners, who were then reviewed by KPMG before being finalized. Congratulations to the winners on your exceptional accomplishments. Also, a big “thank you” to everyone who helped with the submission and presentation process.
